Both the Strange Weather Gospel Choir and Snowy Monaro Arts Council have recently achieved great things:
The Choir, a community choir based in Canberra, last weekend took home both the Best Multicultural Performance in the Australian Choir Challenge and second prize in the Open Sacred Choral section at the National Eisteddfod.
Meanwhile, Snowy Monaro Arts Council Inc., a community organisation based in Cooma, was recently able to make a series of donations to other important groups. Following the resounding success of the ANZAC Eve concert in April, the Arts Council was able to donate $500.00 each to the Cooma District Band, the Cooma Harmony Chorus, the Monaro High School Music Department and also to the Cooma-Bombala group of Legacy.
Both successful groups will come together on Sunday 13 September, for a concert at St Paul’s Anglican Parish Hall. “Spring into Gospel”, performed by the choir, will begin at 2:30pm and the concert will be followed by a sumptuous afternoon tea spread provided by Snowy Monaro Arts Council and friends.
Tickets for this performance are available now at The Fabric Salon in Cooma, and will be available at the door.

Welcome to 2015

We wish all our members and fellow arts-lovers a happy New Year.

Snowy Monaro Arts Council is currently finalising details for our 2015 presentations. Watch this space for more information about dates of concerts and recitals throughout the year.

In the meantime, we'd love to hear from everyone who is involved in any performances taking place in 2015. If we know about your event, we can plan not to hold anything else to clash with it. Plus, we can help you promote your event to our members.

Please let us know the dates of any performances you know about, by commenting on this blog or by emailing foxden@internode.on.net.
